BT Phone Box29/7/2019 Dunchideock Parish Council has recently learned that BT are running a 90 day consultation to consider the removal of 27 telephone kiosks in the area; this includes the kiosk in our village on Blacksmiths Hill, from which no calls have been made in the past 12 months.
The public are encouraged to submit their views to BT / Teignbridge District Council via the following web link: https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/planning/forms/planning-application-details/?Type=Application&Refval=19/01367/CONSLT&MN=Y The Parish Council would also like to hear your views in order to help them form a response to the consultation, as it is possible for the Parish Council to ‘adopt’ the box on behalf of the village. You can email the Parish Clerk with your views, speak directly to one of our councillors, or come to an Extraordinary meeting of the PC on the 13th August where the matter will be discussed.

Update on Haldon parking16/7/2019 The Parish Council recently asked the Forestry Commission (FC) for free parking for local residents at Haldon Forest in view of the proposal to make roads around the forests an ‘Urban Clearway’. Once the Clearway is implemented there will be no roadside parking across much of the area. The FC appreciates local residents this may inconvenience local people if they have previously parked on the roads here and also that many regular local users may not want to pay full parking charges. Whilst the FC is unable to offer free parking, they pointed us to the FC Discovery Pass - known ‘Haldon Forest Park Membership - which allows unlimited access at Bullers Hill (as well as to the car park at Bellever on Dartmoor) for a fixed annual fee of £38.00. We understand that if you time the application carefully you can get nearly 13 months cover, since as the pass runs until the end of the month in which you apply. The membership also provides a number of other benefits, including discounts in the café.
