Christmas Recycling Dates20/12/2018 Teignbridge Council have published the rubbish and recycling collection dates over the Xmas and New year period. See HERE for the notice with dates.
What can I recycle at Christmas? Cards and wrapping - You can recycle your plain cards and paper based wrapping with your cardboard in your green recycling box. Shiny plastic wrapping must be put in your black bin. Aluminium Foil - You can now recycle your clean foil mince pie cases, kitchen foil and foil lids from cream tubs in your black recycling box. Some other Christmas waste looks like foil but it’s not! We don’t collect crisp packets, sweet wrappers and shiny plastic gift wrap. Please put these in your black bin. Cardboard - Too much cardboard to fit in your green recycling box? Fold, flatten or tear larger boxes to fit in your green box. Remember we collect recycling every week so you can put it out over a couple of collections. Large amounts of cardboard can be taken to your nearest recycling bank. Food waste - Recycle all your veg peelings and food scraps in your food waste container and we’ll collect it weekly. Don’t waste your leftovers, check out recipe ideas at lovefoodhatewaste.com Real Christmas Trees Our FREE Christmas tree recycling points will be back across the District in January 19. The dates and locations are listed on our website. www.teignbridge.gov.uk/christmaswaste

Litter Pick1/12/2018 The P.C arranged a Litter Pick on Saturday 24th November and had a very productive collection by 12 very willing and hardy supporters. We met at 10 am at the village hall and we came down from Willshayes on the Haldon Ridge then down passed the village hall to Blacksmiths Hill.
Another group came from the Belvedere car park along the ridge and down Blacksmiths Hill.Another group made its way from the village hall down and then along the Ide Road. In all we collected 14 large refuse bags. Considering the weather which was foul the result awas very encouraging,we all finished off back at the village hall and was treated to hot soup and a roll with cakes which was very kindly provided by the village hall committee for which we send grateful thanks |
