Garden & Produce Show19/8/2018 Garden & Produce Show 2018. The only disappointment regarding this year's Show was the weather. For the first time people were unable to enjoy their cream tea and Pimms in the sunshine. However both Ann and I were pleasantly surprised by the quantity and quality of the entries this year. Despite the very hot weather, there was a fine display of vegetables and the flowers were outstanding. The Baking section did not disappoint either. Obviously it was too hot to garden so people baked instead ,there was a good selection of quiches, fruit cakes and sponges, plus we have some talented male cooks in the village. Our thanks must go to Peggy and Karen our judges for their thoroughness (albeit they could not even manage a sandwich after tasting all the goodies), they enjoy coming to Dunchideock.
We must also thank Ann Mallet for her delicious scones , Robin and Mark for the cream and jam, Ian Turner for printing the certificates. Last, but not least, many thanks to Rachel, Helen and Karen who do all the hard work. Pat Ouseley
