Highways Updates8/11/2019 The Parish Council has asked DCC Highways if the road surface near School Wood Quarry can be improved. Their response is:
"Although the area is not in particularly good condition , it does not currently meet safety intervention levels. Unfortunately funding is not available to treat the whole area this financial year , but there are some areas of serviceability that could be rectified to improve the condition , and as such we have made a request that this is considered. A scheme for future works has been promoted to deal with it in its entirety . In the meantime , it will continue to be monitored through formal safety inspections , and actions taken accordingly." The Parish Council has asked DCC Highways for the current situation regarding the drainage problems at Blacksmiths Hill. The response is "Enquiries have been made to see if funds are available for any possibility of the repairs being delivered this year . Unfortunately there is not , and the scheme will be designed this financial year , and delivered next." The possibility of placing salt bags and signs with regards to any potential ice risk this winter is being investigated.
